Description

Lunette cloth pads are the perfect environmentally friendly, green alternative to tampons, sanitary napkins and menstrual pads!

They are very trim, and approximately 215mm long, making them suitable to use as a liner to a medium flow pad.

They are made with a bamboo velour absorbent top layer, with inner layers of bamboo terry. The water proof backing is made from PUL (polyurethane laminate).

The Cloth Pad Twin Pack contains two pads. If you wish to only use cloth pads during your cycle we recommend that you will need about 8-14 to get you through your menstrual week (depending on your flow and washing frequency).

Usage:
Your cloth pad is very simple to use, wash and care for. Simply rinse in cold water-an ice cream container with a lid works well to wash, drain and rinse off the pads, and then put into the washing machine. You can wash the cloth menstrual pad with any laundry or cloth nappies. If you only wash cloth pads every other day we recommend rinsing and changing the water in your container daily-especially in the hotter months.   We don’t recommend using fabric softeners as this will hinder the absorbency of the top cotton layer of the cloth pads. Also, don’t use bleaches as this will shorten the life span of your cloth pads. Adding salt or baking soda to the water or an oxygen based whitener will help with stains. The sun is fantastic at fading any stains as well. Cloth Pads can be put into a dryer but a cool to medium dryer cycle is recommended. By following the wash and care information you can expect your cloth pad to last approximately 5 years – a very greener alternative indeed!

Materials and Environment:
Fabrics are made from processed Bamboo Cellulose, Once processed this is made into fibers (this is not the original bamboo fiber) which the fabric is made from. It is essentially a plant plastic-like fiber. It takes a very long time to biodegrade. The pulyurethane layer is used as “waterproofing”, this is plastic and is not biodegradable. However the use of re-usasble pads for up to five years saves a huge amount of single-use materials from landfill.

End of life:
Once the pads are no longer usable they are disposed of with your landfill waste. The plant based materials will eventually biodegrade but the polyurethane will not.

Your order will be packaged in plastic-free, all plant-based materials. Packaging materials will depending on the size and weight of your order.

• Recycled cardboard  sealed with Kraft Tape.
• Cotton bag, sewn shut (if you carefully unpick the stitching then you’ll be receiving a free re-usable cotton tote bag!).
