Shea Butter – 80g

Shea Butter is obtained from the Shea-Karite Tree (or Shea Tree) which is native to West Africa, and has been used in African skin & hair care for generations. It is naturally rich in vitamins A, E and F, and is said to offer a mild sun protection factor (approximately SPF 6). It is solid at room temperature but softens when warmed and on contact with skin.

Shea Butter is rich in fats, making it a fantastic moisturiser for dry and ageing skin, and is commonly used for the treatment of various skin conditions such as dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema and blemishes. It is also useful in helping to reduce the appearance of scars, hives, rashes, fine lines and wrinkles, whilst strengthening, protecting and regenerating the skin. Experiments show that it also possesses anti-inflammatory properties.

Shea butter can be used on its own directly on the skin, but is also commonly used in skin care products. As an industry favourite, it is used in a variety of applications ranging from Lip balms, Body masks, Creams, Lotions, Body butters, Hair care products, Liquid and Bar Soaps, Bath oils, Suncare products, Baby products, and the list goes on.

Our Shea Butter has been refined to remove the odour but its properties are still the same. It is not melted down when packaging, it is carved from the block.

Bentonite Clay – 80g

Bentonite Clay is a highly purified, 100% natural product mined in the USA. This grade of Bentonite is water-washed to remove impurities and lower the grit content.

Bentonite Clay is used extensively in the personal care and cosmetic industries, and even the pharmaceutical industry, as well as popular use in spa treatments due to its abundance of minerals and therapeutic benefits.

In personal care products it is most commonly used as a thickener, suitable for use in many different applications including soaps, lotions, creams, shampoos, liquid facial cleansers, body powders and deodorants. In cosmetics is it commonly used as a pigment binder and suspending agent, well suited to pigmented make-up such as liquid foundations, BB creams and tinted moisturizers.

Bentonite Clay is said to attract and draw out free radicals and other toxins from he skin and body, aid in muscle recovery, and help with the relief of minor skin conditions. It is great for use in exfoliants, face masks, body muds and detox baths.

Tips for Use:
Mask: For a simple and effective mask, mix a few drops of purified water, floral water or aloe vera juice, with a few drops of your favourite carrier oil into 1tbsp of clay until a smooth paste is formed. 1-2 drops of essential oil can also be added for extra benefits. Apply to the face or body and leave for about 10 minutes (or until partially dry). Gently rinse off and finish with a good moisturiser or face serum.

Safety: Quartz (Crystalline Silica) is present in Bentonite Clay at less than 1% as a naturally occurring component, not removed from the clay ore during processing.

Zinc Oxide Powder – 80g

Zinc Oxide Powder is effective for soothing irritated skin, is an opacifier, is used in Mineral Makeup and protects your skin from the sun without harming the ocean.

Simply mix the Zinc Powder with your favourite coconut oil or scented oils to turn into a paste and apply to skin.
